The CFAC mission is to ensure that the development and delivery of services and supports remains responsive to the well-being of individuals who have an intellectual/developmental disability, or who need services for mental health or substance use disorder.

CFAC discusses community service issues, learns about the operations of Cardinal Innovations and gives feedback. Meetings are open to the public, and members and their families are encouraged to attend. CFAC works with Cardinal Innovations to accomplish its goals and makes regular reports to the Cardinal Innovations Board of Directors. The organization and all activities undertaken by the CFAC are consistent with the North Carolina Legislation G. S. 122C 170.

Duties of CFAC

  • Review, comment on and monitor the implementation of the local business plan
  • Identify service gaps and underserved populations
  • Make recommendations regarding the service array and monitor the development of additional services
  • Review and comment on the budget
  • Participate in quality improvement measures and performance indicators
