Our licensed counselors can connect you to services helping to avoid long waits in emergency rooms, unnecessary hospitalizations, and find detox and treatment for substance use disorder quickly.

Counselors may:

  • Set up an appointment for you within seven days, depending on the urgency of your situation
  • Dispatch Mobile Crisis for face-to-face counseling and support services
  • Recommend that you go to one of our community facilities:  Walk-In/Advanced Access Centers, Crisis Recovery Centers or Comprehensive Community Clinics.

You can visit these facilities without an appointment if you are experiencing a crisis.

Walk-In/Advanced Access

Cardinal Innovations Healthcare has Walk-In/Advanced Access Centers and Facility Based Crisis Centers throughout the service region. Assessments are available Monday through Friday. Licensed staff will work with you to determine the level of care you need.

Alamance Caswell Community Office

RHA: Operates the Advanced Access/Walk-in Crisis Center for Alamance and Caswell counties. Location: 319 N. Graham-Hopedale Road Suite E., Burlington, NC 27217. Hours: 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday-Friday. Phone: 336-513-4200.

Mecklenburg Community Office

Freedom House Recovery: Operates the Advanced Access/Walk-in Crisis Center in Orange and Person counties.

Piedmont Community Office

Daymark Recovery Services: Operates the Advanced Access/Walk-in Crisis Centers for Cabarrus, Davidson, Rowan, Stanly and Union counties. You may walk into any Daymark location for services. Crisis Recovery Centers

Crisis Recovery Centers help individuals who need to be stabilized on their medications or those who need help with detox from drugs or alcohol. There are two Crisis Recovery Centers in the Cardinal Innovations Healthcare service area—one in Kannapolis and one in Monroe. Daymark Recovery Services operates both centers. The centers are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

If you are experiencing a crisis related to mental health or substance use disorder, you can walk into either center and a specialist will assist you. The centers also serve individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities who are experiencing mental health or substance use/addiction crises.

Comprehensive Community Clinics

Comprehensive Community Clinics (CCCs) are designed to provide Cardinal Innovations' members increased access to Medicaid and IPRS safety net services, which include basic therapy and medication management in addition to other core services as defined in N.C. General Statute 122C-3. You may go to any of the Comprehensive Community Clinics within the Cardinal Innovations Healthcare network to receive services.
