Wallace C. “Chuck” Hollowell, III, General Counsel

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​WALLACE C. “CHUCK” HOLLOWELL, III GENERAL COUNSELWallace C. (Chuck) Hollowell, III was named General Counsel for Cardinal Innovations Healthcare in June 2015. He is responsible for all legal services, compliance, risk management and regulatory affairs. Along with his team of attorneys and professionals, he works to promote and protect the organization's interests.​

Hollowell joined Cardinal Innovations in early 2014 as Deputy General Counsel, serving as the senior legal advisor responsible for a wide range of legal and regulatory activities. He had previously served as outside counsel for Cardinal Innovations since 2007, as a partner with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP in Raleigh.

Hollowell has practiced health care law since 1998. His practice has focused on assisting health care clients with regulatory and strategic planning issues and protecting their interests through litigation in a variety of forums. During his career, he has been actively involved in the health law bar, serving as president of the North Carolina Society of Healthcare Attorneys from 2006 to 2007. He also served as chair of the North Carolina Bar Association's Health Law Section from 2010 to 2011 and is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association.

In 2004, the Triangle Business Journal presented Hollowell with one of its "40 Under 40" awards, which recognizes outstanding Research Triangle leaders under 40 years of age. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America®  -- Health Care Law each year since 2007. After law school, he spent a year serving as a law clerk to Justice Willis P. Whichard on the North Carolina Supreme Court.

Hollowell graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1997, where he was a member of the Virginia Law Review. In 1993, he received his bachelors of arts in international studies with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was named to Phi Beta Kappa.
