Depression can cause feelings of sadness, anxiety, or loss. Feelings of depression can also come with thoughts of hurting yourself or suicide. If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, call 911 or our Access and Crisis team at 1-800-939-5911.

It can affect children, teens, and adults and can start from life events, illnesses, or no reason at all. For some people, depression may be seasonal. This is called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Depression is not a weakness and is not a character flaw. It’s a chemical imbalance in the brain that can be treated. People who have depression may experience symptoms such as:
  • Lasting sadness
  • Unexplained feelings of hopelessness or guilt
  • Loss of interest in daily life
  • Changes in sleep, such as not being able to sleep or sleeping too much
  • Feeling tired or slow
  • Appetite and weight changes
  • Trouble concentrating or making decisions
  • Thoughts of death or suicide, or wishing to die (call 911 or 1-800-939-5911)

You are not alone in your depression. We can help you find healthy ways to ease your stress or pain so that you can live your best life. If you or someone you know is suffering from depression, call us at 1-800-939-5911.
