More Members Can Begin Receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine March 17

Cardinal Innovations Healthcare — March 05, 2021
Many of our members have been added to Group 4 for COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Group 4 is scheduled to begin receiving the COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, March 17.

Group 4 includes those ages 16 to 65 who have one or more high-risk medical conditions and/or live in a group setting.

Specifically for our members, the following categories are now in Group 4:
  • All individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD), including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Down syndrome
  • Any person with a neurological condition such as schizophrenia or dementia
  • Those with any medical condition that makes them high-risk for severe illness from COVID-19
  • Those living in group settings (i.e., group homes, intermediate care facilities, nursing homes, halfway houses, etc.)
  • Those experiencing homelessness
Members unsure of their Group 4 eligibility can call our Access Line at 1-800-939-5911.

Until then, North Carolina will continue to administer vaccines to those in Group 3—frontline essential workers and home caregivers.
