Message from the CEO – November 23, 2020

Cardinal Innovations Healthcare — November 23, 2020
I have a lot to be thankful for this year.
I’m thankful for Cardinal Innovations’ members, providers, and communities. Many of you have reached out in support of our organization and to offer suggestions as to how we can better serve our members. I’ve spent a lot of time over the last several weeks meeting with our CFACs, Regional Health Councils, and provider groups. I’ve gained valuable insight, constructive feedback, and encouragement along the way. I am committed to continuing this important engagement – and appreciate the time and trust you all have extended towards me, and the organization.
I’m thankful for the team at Cardinal Innovations. Our team is committed to the members we serve and the providers that care for them. There is a tremendous amount of work going on here and within the communities we work and live.
Over the last several weeks we have been focused on finalizing the action plan in response to counties who have taken steps towards disengagement. We’ve been meeting with county leaders throughout our catchment to receive feedback and input to inform the final action plan. Progress is underway – we’ve started implementation, and I’m thankful for the team making it happen.
I’m thankful for the future – and the opportunity to give our members access to whole person care. We are excited for the recent release of the Tailored Plan - Request for Application (RFA). On November 13, the Department released the application to LME/MCOs and we will be applying to serve as a Behavioral Health I/DD Tailored Plan. Once awarded, Tailored Plans will provide: physical health, behavioral health, long-term care, and pharmacy services to qualified members. I’ve long said that our members deserve whole person care – and that’s exactly what we will be able to offer as a Tailored Plan.
I have a lot to be thankful for – and in this week of Thanksgiving, it is my hope that you take time to reflect on what you have to be thankful for, too.
