Educational Program Helps Young Adults with IDD Become Thriving Adults

HEELS Prep is a week-long opportunity for emerging adults with intellectual disabilities (ID) to experience campus life at UNC-Chapel Hill. Participants will have the chance to build skills in preparation for adulthood. They will also set goals for a promising future. The program addresses key skill areas of the transition to adulthood, including career exploration, self-management, social participation, independent living and safety. When: June 15-19, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Application Deadline: April 17, 2020. Applications can be found here.
Acceptance notifications: May 6, 2020.
Cost: $700 for the week. Financial aid is available.
