1915(b)(c) Waivers Approved and Webinars

NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) — July 11, 2019
On June 28, 2019, the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) published Joint Communication Bulletin #J330, announcing that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved renewal of the NC Innovations Waiver and the NC MH/DD/SAS Waiver  – also called the 1915(b)(c) Waivers. This bulletin highlights changes to both Waivers.

To better inform stakeholders about the changes in the NC Innovations Waiver Renewal, the state will hold two webinars in July.

About 1915(b) and (c) Waivers
Medicaid enrollees who need behavioral health services for mental illness, intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD), and/or substance use disorders may be eligible for coverage under the North Carolina 1915(b)(c) Medicaid Waiver program.

The NC Innovations Waiver is a 1915(c) Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver to help individuals living with IDD receive long-term services and supports in their communities.
