Robert Grasty is the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and Vice President of Human Resources for Cardinal Innovations Healthcare. Grasty has over 25 years of business experience in designing and executing human resources strategies in both domestic and international organizations in various industries.

Grasty joined Cardinal Innovations in November 2018 from LifeBrite Laboratories in Atlanta, Ga., where he was Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and was responsible for all day-to-day operations, sales, revenue, and employee development. LifeBrite is a national clinical and research laboratory focusing on Inherited Cancer Genetics, Genetics Carrier Screening, Women’s Health and STIs, Chronic Care Management, Pharmacogenomics, Blood Chemistries, and Urine and Oral Drug Testing. While there, Grasty worked on a corporate transformation strategy that achieved a cost savings of $2.5 million in nine months.

Before LifeBrite Laboratories, Grasty was the Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Inova Health System reporting to the CEO and serving over 3 million people in the Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia area. Grasty was responsible for over 19,500 Inova associates, supporting five hospitals and over 200 sites. Grasty implemented the first-ever succession management model/program to the board and he also led CEO succession as well and had cost savings exceeding over $10 million in his first years.

Over the years, Grasty has worked in many industries including healthcare, utilities/energy, financial services, pharmaceutical, communications, chemical, information technology, and executive search. Grasty has experience in talent management, talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, culture transformation, learning and development, executive coaching, employee relations, and human resource policies.

Grasty has worked for Lucent, Pfizer, TIAA-CREF, OGE, and Pepco Holdings Inc. in the past, developing strategies for culture transformation, diversity and inclusion, recruiting, total rewards, employee relations, HR and IT policies. He led several significant HR transformations/restructuring at Inova, Pepco Holdings, TIAA-CREF, Pfizer, and Lucent, with cost savings exceeding over $100 million. He designed and implemented diversity recruiting strategy programs and led culture transformation for those organizations and also served as the lead for several corporate acquisitions exceeding over several billion dollars combined at Lucent, Pfizer, TIAA-CREF, OGE Energy, and Pepco Holdings.

Grasty is a LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt. He is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, was the former board chair for Troops to Energy, National Black MBA Associates, presented several times at the Conference Board on HR topics, and participated in community-relationships associations, and professional associations. He received the Apollo Excellence Award, Outstanding Accomplishment awards from the Department of Labor and Census Bureau for Diversity Program and metrics. Grasty also has served for many years as a football and wrestling coach.
 
Grasty received his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1990 from Kutztown University and a master’s degree in Human Resources Development from Villanova University in 1993.
