LaDonna Battle joined Cardinal Innovations Healthcare in October 2020 as Vice President of Care Management and Population Health. She is responsible for overseeing the Care Coordinators who work directly with our members.
Battle, a Registered Nurse, has over 20 years of experience in health care with expertise in the standardization, execution, and tactical planning of innovative clinical, technical and operation management programs. In her previous roles, she helped achieve strategic outcomes through integration with information systems partners, local governing bodies, vendors, community service agencies, and health plans in accordance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.
Before joining Cardinal, Battle was Vice President of Field Health Services Operations at WellCare Health Plans, a health insurance company that provides managed care services through Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug plans. In that role, Battle was an integral leader in the standardization of the organization’s care management framework, a multi-state market redesign, and helped drive change for the organization’s Performance Improvement Activities.
Prior to working for WellCare, Battle served as Director of Women’s & Children’s Services Line at Columbus Regional Health in Columbus, Georgia, where she directed operational oversight of: Obstetrics, Routine Nursery, Special Care Nursery, Antepartum Testing, Postpartum, Pediatrics, Pediatric Intensive Care, Outpatient Pediatrics, Women's Medical/Surgical area.
Battle has a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valparaiso University, and completed the Indiana Family Health Services, Obstetrics and Gynecology Nurse Practitioner Program at Indiana University-Purdue University.
Battle, a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, is a Board Certified Nurse Executive Administrator Advanced through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She also is certified in Managed Care Nursing through the American Board of Managed Care Nursing (ABMCN).
In her spare time, Battle enjoys mentoring young adults in the community toward seeking careers in health and leadership.
