Dietrick Williams joined Cardinal Innovations Healthcare as Chief Operations Officer in spring 2019. Williams has worked in the health plan/payer industry for over 20 years in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.
He has experience with a vast array of health plan operations that includes leading core operation teams including billing and enrollment, claims, contact centers, and grievances and appeals. He’s also supported network builds for service area expansion, clinical and non-clinical operating models and implemented large government sponsored programs including Medicaid managed care, Medicare and most recently the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Healthcare Exchange product. Williams also has worked on and led technology solutions, health plan operation integrations, benefit design and product management, and performed strategic planning.
Most recently, Williams oversaw the operations of a Centene subsidiary, Peach State Health Plan in Georgia, where he served as Vice President of Operations. Williams was responsible for operational management, as well as implementation and expansion of their Medicare and Health Exchange (Marketplace) products. He also led cross-functional teams to implement new programs, processes and policies, along with operational and financial deliverables and was responsible for a $300 million operating budget.
Prior to working for Peach State Health Plan, Williams worked as a senior consultant with Deloitte Consulting, LLP, in Atlanta, implementing strategy and operations projects for large national health plans.
For 10 years, Williams worked at various health plans in Florida, including a subsidiary of Emblem Health Plan, Health Insurance Plan Administrators (HIPA), where he developed and implemented their Third Party-Administrator (TPA), rolling out operational business units servicing commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and PPO product lines.
Williams holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in Health Service Administration from Florida International University in Miami. He is a former member of the Institute for Diversity in Health Management and the National Association of Health Service Executives.
