Trey Sutten, CEO of Cardinal Innovations

A message from our CEO

A career in behavioral health and IDD managed care is one of compassion, dedication, and service. When you choose to join our team, you are signing on to an organization that lives out its values every day. We take seriously our responsibility to pioneer services, processes, and solutions that improve member outcomes.  As such, we recruit and employ highly skilled, passionate, and innovative individuals.

It is my great privilege to lead the team—to learn from, strategize with, and serve our members together. As we move toward integrated healthcare for our state’s most vulnerable individuals, the Cardinal Innovations team remains committed to delivering quality care for our members and supporting the communities in which they live.

I invite you to learn about our organization, our culture, and our values. If you are encouraged by what you see and think your skill set and experience would be of value, we welcome you to apply for available positions.

Training & career development

We value and invest in each of our team members from day one. We also know that career advancement and continuing education is important to many of our team members. That’s why every new employee receives training upon their arrival and regularly throughout their career.

Employee development

We prioritize trainings that help our team members better understand and serve those with mental health conditions, intellectual and developmental disorders, and substance use disorders. Each training we offer has a real-world impact that will improve not only our team members’ professional journey but also the care that our members receive. Classes range from fundamentals and overviews to deeper topics that examine the complexities of our members’ health conditions. Employees can participate in:
  • Continuing education unit (CEU) opportunities
  • Diversity & inclusion training
  • Person-centered training
  • Courses to develop skills for a long-term career (e.g. professional ethics, case management, and crisis intervention)
  • And many more

An inclusive and welcoming environment

Our employees reflect the diversity of our members and the communities we serve. Each employee is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment of mutual respect and support.
